Conservation Photos is working on a photo essay highlighting the fragile beauty of the Nissitissit River.
Originating in Brookline, NH, the Nissitissit travels a mere 10.5 miles before spilling into the Nashua River in Pepperell, MA; but in this small stretch is a habitat rich in wildlife, including native trout and rare species of mussels.

Over fifty-two per cent of river frontage is protected from development and is host to
dozens of species of wildflowers, birds, dragonflies and other insects.

Protecting the river is a priority for a number of organisations including the Nissitissit River Land Trust, the Nashoba Conservation Trust, The Beaver Brook Association, The Nashua River Watershed Association
and the Squan-a-Tissit chapter of Trout Unlimited; the towns of Brookline NH and Pepperell MA,
as well as the Massachusetts Department of Fisheries and Wildlife also have played a major role ensuring the Nissitissit River and its surrounding watersheds are protected.

Conservation Photos joins these organisations in raising the awareness and appreciation of the Nissitissit River.
